Hello everyone and welcome (a bit late) to 2014!

For someone who was born in 1949, graduated high school in 1967, collage in 71,  married in 72 and started working in TV in 1976, 2014 makes me feel a tad old!  But only for a moment because I look around me and see the wonderful people who surround me and how well we get along (no matter the age differences) and I realize age is truly a state of mind.  That is a fact only if you do not try to do the physical things you did in your teens and twenty's !
I feel so fortunate for everything in my life and have for years.  Starting with my wife of 42 years and the resulting children and grandchildren and continuing through my career and life in general.
We started the 3rd season of our show and despite missing my best bud daily going to work each day and seeing Linda G. and the cast and crew constantly reinforces my gratitude!  The show just keeps getting better and more fun to do.  I keep my fingers crossed and work my hardest to have it reach the 7 year run I so rashly told everyone it would.  New additions to the cast have fit in seamlessly (Emma, Mitch, Judith, Anna Lynn and Juan Pablo I'm talking about you all) and we all have become friends.
I will start directing episodes of the show this season, episode (singular) having immersed myself in all the new technologies and systems filming has developed since 1991 (when I directed my last Dallas!  It will be episode number 11 and once again I am grateful to Cynthia C. and Mike R. for having the faith in me to get the job done.  Hopefully more to come in the coming years.
On a personal note I cannot believe how fast my grandchildren are growing.  The youngest, Frederick (from Padraic and Emily) is 2 and talking up a storm and now knows who Grampa and Gramma Duffy are.  We drop in to LA from here in Dallas while shooting the show and from Oregon when on my break.  They all usually make one trip to the Oregon ranch each year and I get to do the hero-Gramps thing.  Love it!
My youngest son Conor and I are developing a series for television together.  We will be Ex Producers only as I cannot act in 2 separate shows. As it becomes more and more definite I will release more info on it!  Amazing to be in an equal working situation with my youngest and be learning from him!
My other son's (Padraic) Theatre, Sacred Fools, is doing better than it has ever done in its history under his leadership.  I love watching the balancing act he and his wife do with home life (see toddler), both parents working, him writing as well and remembering Carlyn and myself in our early years!!
My life is in a great rhythm now with private and public parts well meshed and protected and I wish all of you in all the media worlds we inhabit the best of years in this 2014.  Please take care of your health, love your families and try to create value for yourself and others each and every day!
With sincere appreciation I close now this note but leave my heart open to you all!

05.01.13 - TNT has renewed the hit drama series DALLAS for a third season. Produced by Warner Horizon Television, DALLAS centers on the Ewing clan, an enormously wealthy Texas family whose sibling rivalries, romantic betrayals, corruption and even murder are truly legendary. TNT has ordered 15 episodes for the third season, which is slated to launch in early 2014. "DALLAS has built a passionately loyal following with its expertly woven storylines, clever twists and turns, and numerous outstanding performances by a cast that spans generations," said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies (TCM). "Although we said goodbye to Larry Hagman and his iconic character J.R. Ewing this year, DALLAS has many more stories left to tell, and the Ewing clan will continue to honor J.R.'s memory by keeping its audience surprised and delighted." TNT's Dallas stars Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing, who is now the senior member of the Ewing family following the death of his older brother, J.R. Ewing. Linda Gray stars as Sue Ellen Ewing, J.R.'s former wife and the mother of his son, John Ross, played by Josh Henderson. Jesse Metcalfe is Christopher, Bobby’s adopted son, and Jordana Brewster is Elena Ramos, who grew up in the Ewing household and is now fighting for her own family's legacy. Julie Gonzalo is Pamela Rebecca Barnes, Christopher's ex-wife and the daughter of Cliff Barnes (Ken Kercheval), a longtime rival of the Ewings. Brenda Strong stars as Bobby’s wife, Ann, while Mitch Pileggi stars as Harris Ryland, Ann’s scheming ex-husband. The ensemble cast also includes Emma Bell as Emma Brown, a sheltered beauty whose father has taught her to distrust the world around her, and Kuno Becker as Drew Ramos, Elena’s troubled brother who has recently returned to Southfork. DALLAS launched on TNT last summer and ranked as basic cable's #1 new drama of 2012 with key adult demos. In its second season, DALLAS has averaged 3.8 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery, with 1.6 million adults 25-54 and 1.4 million adults 18-49. Created by David Jacobs and shot on location in the title city, DALLAS is executive-produced by Cynthia Cidre, Michael M. Robin and Robert Rovner.
